The Disability Royal Commission was established in response to community concern about widespread reports of violence against, and the neglect, abuse and exploitation of, people with disability. These incidents might have happened recently or a long time ago. The Disability Royal Commission investigated:

  • preventing and better protecting people with disability from experiencing violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation
  • achieving best practice in reporting, investigating and responding to violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability
  • promoting a more inclusive society that supports people with disability to be independent and live free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.

The Australian & New Zealand Mental Health Association Inc. is a non-government, not for profit organisation. The advisory board representatives have a wide background in mental health within Australia and New Zealand. The role of the Association is to advance the field of mental health through the application of knowledge about mental health, from mental health education, training and research to mental health advocacy.

MindSpot is a world leading digital mental health clinic providing free mental health resources, confidential assessments and clinically-proven treatments to Australian adults struggling with stress, anxiety, depression and chronic pain. The innovative approach to telephone and online mental health treatment has helped more than 150,000 people build their emotional resilience. Developed by internationally-recognised experts, the services have been carefully evaluated in over 80 clinical trials with more than 9,000 participants. MindSpot is a clinic at MQ Health, based at Macquarie University in Sydney and funded by the Australian Government – Department of Health.

The e-Mental Health in Practice (eMHPrac) project is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and aims to raise awareness and knowledge of evidence-based digital mental health resources. eMHPrac delivers free presentations, workshops and webinars to health practitioners throughout Australia. eMHPrac is led by Queensland University of Technology and partners with Black Dog Institute, Menzies School of Health Research, and University Centre for Rural Health (University of Sydney). Speech Pathology Australia is the national peak body for the speech pathology profession in Australia. Speech pathologists are university trained allied health professionals with expertise in the assessment and treatment of communication and/or swallowing difficulties. As part of the mental health team, they play an important role in diagnosing mental illnesses.
